December 2012 NEWSLETTER Harmonies & Harminies

Saturday 15th December ‐ Tesco Market Deeping

We are singing to raise funds for Cancer Research UK at Tesco in Market Deeping on the above date. The song list can be found on the Members Area and “costume” is the pink or purple Handful polos and black bottoms. Please, please, please come along if you can – we are short of singers and this is such a worthy and wonderful cause! This event is for Harmonies ladies only. As for all “gigs” over the Christmas period, please be at the venue no earlier than 15 minutes before we are scheduled to sing (with the exception of the Ness Group Christmas Concert on Saturday evening and The Red Hall Fayre on Monday 17th – come and browse).

Saturday 15th December ‐ Ness Group Christmas Concert

Harminies – please remember your teddy bears and/or dressing gowns for the performance and wear your purple polos and black bottoms underneath. We will sing “One More Sleep” first, followed by “Holly Jolly Rudolph” and then “When Children Rule” last – songs will be performed from memory. Harminies should arrive at 7.10pm and be collected at 8.15pm. Parents who wish to stay may do so by making a donation to the church fund and standing at the rear of the church. Please note, there are no toilet facilities at the church.

Harmonies ladies – it would be wonderful if we could all arrive at the church for 6.30pm so that everyone is seated and those people who were not present on Wednesday have an opportunity to rehearse getting into position neatly. I will be at the church from 6.30pm and hope that as many of you as possible can attend at this time. The Baskervilles is only a 5 minute walk away so there should be time to use their facilities, if necessary.

Monday 17th December – Christmas Fayre, The Red Hall, Bourne, 6.00 – 9.00pm – ALL WELCOME!

Suzanne is very well organised and we have some fantastic stalls in attendance for what promises to be a wonderful evening. Admission to the Fayre, which starts at 6.00pm, is free and refreshments will be served all evening. We still need Harmonies ladies to sing carols between 7-7.30pm and again from 8-8.30pm (in pink/purple and black HOH attire, please) and if there are enough Harminies children who are available to sing we can have a children’s spot as well. If you are the parent/carer of a Harminies child who would like to sing from 6.30 – 6.50pm, please let Andrew know by return e-mail or on (07545) 979675, by 6pm on Sunday (16th Dec) and you will receive an email on Monday morning to confirm whether there are enough children to go ahead. I have attached a copy of the Fayre poster with this e-mail – please feel free to print and circulate at will.

Friday 21st December – Christian Aid Big Christmas Sing, Thackers Park, Deeping, 7.00 – 8.00pm

I am absolutely desperate for anyone who can play any woodwind, brass or stringed instruments to accompany the singing for this fundraising event on Friday 21st December. This is a public event and I will provide all of the music for the instrumentalists – who can be male, female, children – ANYONE!! Please let me know if you can, or know anyone who can help. I have attached a copy of the carol booklet for anyone who wishes to come along and sing.

Saturday 22nd December – Dobbies, Hampton

Harminies – folders will be provided for this event and we will sing all of the songs that we sang for parents on the last day of term. If you could bring a red Santa hat and wear your purple Harminies polo and black bottoms, that would be fantastic! We will be singing from 1.30 – 2.00pm and then the Harmonies Ladies will be taking over and singing from 2.00 – 2.30pm - in pink/purple and black.
